ABOUT ALEX

I am a labor and delivery nurse at Cape Cod Hospital with an undeniable passion for art. I value my job as a nurse just as much as I value my job as an artist; for me the two work hand in hand. My job as a nurse is the most rewarding kind of hard work, and my job as an artist is my relief, my form of therapy and my outlet to release all of the static in my brain that nursing can leave behind after a long day.

My style of art is constantly changing and my work molds itself to reflect the current stage I am in in my life. Consistency in art has never appealed to me, as I am steadily evolving and shifting and therefore my art is too. I have never felt comfortable limiting myself to using only one medium; I usually explore with oil, acrylic and watercolor paint, pen and ink, and occasionally pencil. I continue to practice my skills every day to fuel my desire to become a better and more versatile artist.

Giving Back

5% of all of my art sold is donated to Oceana, a nonprofit organization working exclusively to protect and restore our oceans. The ocean is a major source of life and it is the biggest inspiration for most of my paintings. Water is where life began and is the reason why life continues and I think it's important that we do our best to take care of it.
